Providing professional integrators with a choice of 4K-compatible HDMI switchers, Key Digital has announced its new KD-S2x1X and KD-S4x1X 4K/18G HDMI switchers.
Key Digital says that its latest HDMI switchers are designed to deliver support for resolutions up to 4096 x 2160 at 60Hz and 4:4:4 chroma sub-sampling for signals up to 18Gbps.
Some of the other features the KD-S2x1X and KD-S4x1X switchers support include the HDR10 high dynamic range (HDR) format and the HDCP 2.2 protocol.
Key Digital explains the products can be used for light commercial, home theater, whole-house AV and other applications.
The KD-S2x1X and KD-S4x1X 4K/18G HDMI switchers enable multiple video sources to connect to a single television or display, while their analog left/right audio and Toslink optical audio de-embed ports feed the audio of selected sources to amplifiers or soundbars.
The Mount Vernon, N.Y.-based electronics company also points out switchers also incorporate auto sensing with automatic selection of newly detected sources. The products will also disconnect sources via Hot Plug Detection when voltage is enabled.
Some of the other features the KD-S2x1X and KD-S4x1X 4K/18G HDMI switchers provide include EDID management options, Dolby and DTS surround sound compatibility, and Key Digital’s proprietary Full Buffer System. This technology manages TMDS re-clocking/signal regeneration, HDCP authentication, and EDID handshakes.
