SnapAV came to CEDIA 2017 with many new developments in tow, not the least of which was its updated OvrC remote management platform.
Earlier this year, SnapAV made a significant change to the structure of OvrC by decoupling OvrC Home from OvrC Pro. OvrC Home is a client-facing mobile app that serves as a virtual extension to integrators' support services. Through command buttons in OvrC Home, dealers can empower clients to recognize and troubleshoot basic system issues on their own.
“Previously, OvrC Home was available only to OvrC Pro subscribed integrators,” says Kenny Kim, product manager, OvrC. “But now OvrC Home is accessible to every integrator using OvrC-enabled products. Out-of-the-box, integrators are equipped with a suite of new capabilities, including macro commands, app branding and value-added consmer services.”
New upgrades to the system as of CEDIA 2017 include a global dashboard and more in-depth network diagnostics.

The global dashboard features interface improvements, batch notifications and other upgrades, explains the company.
“Now you can see all your clients and their system status on a single global dashboard to make it easy to manage and consolidate truck rolls,” says Kim. “Click on a location to jump straight into the system for troubleshooting or filter locations by those that need attention, have a firmware update available or are an OvrC Pro location.”
In addition, now integrators can dig deeper into network diagnostics and provide increased third-party device management capabilities through OvrC Pro.
“With an increased consumer demand for in-home technology, we want to continue to deliver on the promise with OvrC Pro, which is the ability to manage all IP devices on a single platform,” adds Kim. “Every OvrC release is designed to make dealers' lives easier. With a powerful remote management tool, the business opportunities are endless.”
