Séura is known for bringing high style and design to the outdoor TV product category, and the company continues that tradition with the Storm Ultra Bright TV.
“Prior to Séura entering the outdoor TV category, TVs were big, bulky, boxy and industrial looking. We have completely changed that with the introduction of our super sleek Storm Ultra Bright and our thinner Storm Series, basically changing the conversation in the category towards elegance,” says Keegan Coulter, vice president of sales and marketing at Séura.
But Séura is not resting on its laurels. First, the company is aiming to taking its focus on elegance to the next level, says Coulter. That focus led the company to its latest innovation, which is a mirrored edge on the TV that creates an illusion similar to one created by an infinity pool, notes Coulter.
“The product actually blends into the background for a more seamless design,” explains Coulter. The unit also has a thin bezel and modern button controls.
Secondly, Séura made a determination to have the best picture performance possible in any outdoor environment, even with direct sunlight is hitting the screen. The company’s 4K TVs are 50 percent brighter than the previous generation, reaching 1,000 nits on its Storm Ultra Bright Series. Additionally, Séura uses its patented Adaptive Picture Technology which constantly adjusts the TV’s color, contrast and brightness based on the changing ambient lighting conditions that occur every day.
“Our only serious competitor has two settings: day and night,” notes Coulter.
Lastly, the company wanted to make its products easier for dealers to sell. As part of that effort, Séura made a number of small changes, including moving the weatherproof compartment on the TV from the middle to the bottom right to allow for easier access to inputs/outputs. The company’s new generation of TVs are also 25 percent lighter and include new handles on the back, making them easier for installers to lift and mount. The products also have HDBaseT and IP control infused directly into the TVs.
Smart Mirror Offers Personalized Dashboard
Séura's latest innovation is its new Android-based Smart Mirror, which is a personalized dashboard right in a client’s bathroom mirror that is up to four times larger than the screen size of smart phone or tablet. As the homeowner approaches it, the Smart Mirror greets him or her with the time and weather.
From there, the user simply swipes the interface—just like using a smart phone—to access a personalized dashboard that includes any apps or widgets desired, such as news, sports, social media feeds or emails. The unit can also respond to voice commands.
“The great thing about this dashboard is that anybody can create anything they want [on the interface]. Whatever is most important to them,” notes Coulter.
