Sanus is Back in the Custom Channel with Black Series

CEDIA 2016: Popular in DIY circles, Milestone AV’s Sanus brand is going all-out custom with new Black Series of TV mounts, sold direct to dealer with no online sales.

Sanus is one of the leading sellers of TV mounts … which can be a bad thing for home-technology installers who prefer a little protection.

Now Sanus, a brand of Milestone AV, has a small line of products just for pros, introduced at CEDIA 2016.  The new Black Series is “only sold direct to dealer,” says marketing director Ryan Hagberg. “Not through distribution, not online.”

The new line offers some features not found in Sanus’s existing line of products. For example, the tilt mount pulls out from the wall, enabling installers to mount larger TVs that otherwise would bump at the bottom. The pull-out feature also is handy for servicing the TV and the stuff behind it.

For all that other “stuff,” Sanus makes a flat, slotted bracket that easily slides into place on the mount – no tools required — so the peripheral products can be added, removed or serviced relatively simply.

The Black line is years in the making for Sanus, which has spent time with integrators to learn “exactly what they needed,” Hagberg says.

Sanus kept the best of its other products in the new line, for example, a mechanism that enables the installer to level a TV even after it’s mounted.

The new products come with a new portal as well. Dealers can purchase all Milestone AV products, including Sanus, Chief (mounts) and Da-Lite (projector screens) through a single e-commerce site.

Sanus marketing director Ryan Hagberg is absolutely delighted to demo how the tilt mounts pulls out from the wall …

… so you can actually tilt a big TV with a soundbar without bumping against the wall.
