CE Pro is shining a spotlight on mounts and lifts, and weighing in on that topic is Relina “Rey” Shirley from HIDEit Mounts. Shirley spoke with CE Pro about how the company grew from a mere mount for the Wii video game console to designing mounts for hospitals, hotels… even cruise ships.
What would you say to dealers who are already familiar with your product line?
Our priority in 2016 is to continue growing our Professional Installer Network. We’re working on new marketing strategies that will help promote our dealers, adding even more incentive to sell our products. We also have a dozen new mounts in development to ensure we have a mount for every need.
What would you say to dealers who are stumbling across your company for the first time?
We make vertical wall mounts for nearly any device that plugs into a TV or display. No need to make a localized solution on the fly, charging just a few dollars for zip ties or velcro as a temporary fix. HIDEit Mounts offer sturdy steel component mounts that are Made in the USA. It’s the long-lasting, professional solution that will “wow” your customers and increase your sales revenue.
Tell us about one particularly interesting installation of your product.
When we started, we only offered a mount for the Wii. We quickly learned that there are a lot of other devices that people want to wall mount which eventually led to our adjustable mounts. Turns out, our mounts are also incredibly useful to a wide variety of businesses. We’re in hospitals, hotels, apartments, education facilities…we’re even in some cruise ships!
Besides the usual, what really specific thing differentiates you from your competitors?
As Pioneers of this industry, we have the most experience. We’ve tested designs and materials similar to what our competition is using. Most are based outside the U.S. or their products are made overseas. We are proudly manufactured in the USA. Plus, we offer the most expansive lineup and only adjustable vertical mounts. Our customers don’t need to buy from a competitor, they can get everything from us.
What’s the best sales tip/tactic you’ve come across?

What one technical tip can you offer about installations?
Our mounts include mounting hardware and won’t take up much space on your truck. Install them with or without a drill. Stud mounting is not necessary. It really can’t get much easier.
Where do dealers typically get tripped up on installs?
They don’t. Our mounts are designed to be simple and easy to install. Once mount location is determined, installation takes under 5 minutes.
