What better way for a custom integrator to show specifiers how Lutron lighting control technology can control a home’s “space” than to use a NASA Space Shuttle as a backdrop.
That’s exactly what Los Angeles-area technologist Powerfull Systems did when it hosted 300 Southern California area specifiers for a special evening at the new California Science Center that is the new host of the Space Shuttle Endeavor.
The event attracted over 300 specifiers – architects, interior designers, custom builders, lighting designers, developers and real estate professional – from the L.A. market.
“The purpose of the event was to discuss the Future of Lighting Control and provide the specification community with an overview of Lutron technologies like EcoSystem and limitless control of your lighting in the home, LED technology with Ivalo, .1% dimming LED drivers and demonstrations, innovations in aesthetics like Palladiom and Grafik T, effective daylight management with automated shades,” says Marco Marquecho of Powerfull.

The event began at 6:30 p.m. and attendees were encouraged to mingle, network and preview key products and demonstrations that were set up throughout the space.
At 7:30 p.m., a brief presentation began with a quick introduction to Lutron, Western Energy & Controls and Powerfull Systems, and continued with an overview of new products, key innovations and how Lutron has a lighting control product and solution for every home, every project, and most importantly, every budget, according to Marquecho.
“The presentation concluded with a ‘WOW factor’ demonstration of our ability to dim to .1% – all of the tables within the space were outfitted with Lumaris by Ivalo LED Linear Lighting. Much to the pleasant surprise of all attendees, the power of witnessing seamless dimming performance to .1% was quite impressive, not to mention, many were unaware of how the tables were even lit,” says Marquecho.
