Logitech wants all of your connected home products to live in complete Harmony—or at least under Harmony.
Back in September, the manufacturer debuted the Harmony Living Home lineup in an effort to put all of your connected devices under one control. Now, they are adding to the list of compatible options.
Kwikset announced plans to make its SmartCode lineup part of the growing list of Harmony-friendly entertainment and home automation devices. That list also includes products made by Honeywell, Lutron, Sylvania, and several others.
SmartCode is Kwikset’s line of keyless deadbolt and level locks. The two most recent SmartCode products are the SmartCode 914 Touchpad Electronic Deadbolt and the SmartCode 916 Touchscreen Electronic Deadbolt. Both feature touch capabilities, as well as keyless entry.
SmartCode products with Home Connect technology also feature the option to communicate with other wireless devices in the home. Other features include the company’s patented SmartKey Re-key Technology, BumpGuard, one-touch locking, and more.
“In expanding its capabilities from entertainment system control to a full home automation hub, the new Logitech Harmony Living Home provides a complete, centralized and integrated solution,” says Keith Brandon, director of residential access solutions for Kwikset. “Our convenient and innovative SmartCode locks are a natural fit for Logitech’s home automation solution, as consumers will now have the ability to seamlessly control their locks and other connected devices using one central interface.”
Logitech’s Harmony Living Home Lineup was designed to create easy, affordable control over lights, locks, music, thermostats, blinds, platforms, home entertainment devices and more. As part of the launch (and the setup), Logitech released a brand-new Harmony Hub, two new remotes, and the Logitech Harmony Hub Extender. Each one is available now.
