iRoom, maker of motorized and secure mounts for iPads, is coming out with a locking mechanism for its new iTop tabletop docking station. It will be shown at CEDIA 2016.
Demonstrated for the first time at Essential Install Live last month in England, the unit adds a sturdy arm to lock an iPad in place.
As a reminder, the iTop features a sliding Lightning connector, so users can fit any-sized device into the charger.
The mount also features capacitive-touch buttons on its “iBezel” to initiate virtually any command when integrated with a third-party Wi-Fi-enabled controller.
Speaking of controllers, iRoom is coming out with its own mini-controller, the iO-83, with a simple app to assign buttons to commands. It works with any iRoom mount with an iBezel.
The iO-83 communicates via IP (Wi-Fi and Ethernet) to control up to eight hardwired devices. It features three hardwired inputs as well.
