Distributor AVAD is moving quickly on its new distribution strategy by announcing the opening or planned opening of new seven new branches, two distribution hubs, plus an in-the-field sales resource in northern Florida.
Following up on its recent announcement of changes to strengthen its business model, AVAD is taking clear steps to enhance its presence in the U.S. and Canada. AVAD’s aggressive market development and expansion plans are intended to position the company as the dominant distribution partner in the custom installation channel for both residential and commercial integrators.
AVAD’s new San Diego branch will open in December and will serve the greater San Diego area, which along with AVAD’s Van Nuys (Los Angeles) and Irvine branches will provide dealers across southern California with access to AVAD’s industry leading product selection.
Also opening this month are AVAD locations in Marietta, Ga. (Atlanta) and Eden Prairie, MN. (Minneapolis/St. Paul). In January, AVAD will announce 4 additional new locations in Boston, Houston, Charlotte and Denver.

The distributor is also announcing the opening of its first new distribution hub, in Baltimore, MD, which will provide greater inventory availability to integrators across the eastern United States. Set to open in January 2017, AVAD’s distribution hub will consolidate inventory and streamline fulfillment.
A second hub warehouse will open in Phoenix, Arizona in February of 2017. Additionally, anew will-call logistics model will serve current and many new markets across North America, further expanding the AVAD footprint.
The company is also expanding its market reach in northern Florida, with the addition of Michael Brickwedde, providing local representation to integrators in Tampa, Orlando and other markets in northern Florida. Brickwedde brings prior experience in sales and distribution within the consumer electronics area, including previous positions at AVAD, where he served as a sales representative for seven years, as well as 21st Century Distributing and Sound Advice.
“We are excited to announce the openings of new locations in several markets, allowing our dealers to pick up inventory, consult with our staff and learn more about the latest industry offerings,” says Seth Evenson, director of customer experience management. “We also are delighted to have Michael Brickwedde join the organization. Michael is the first of up to ten new regional hires that will expand our sales effort in 2017.”
