Providing homeowners the convenience of the highest levels of Amazon Prime services, the Schlage Encode Smart WiFi Deadbolt is now compatible with Ring's doorbells and door cameras through integration of Amazon Key.
Schlage, an Allegion brand, first announced its latest deadbolt product this past winter in January 2019.
The company says the door lock is designed work with Key to enable secure remote access from anywhere that includes support for Amazon Prime's Key service.

Encode Smart WiFi Lock Works With Key and Schlage Home Apps
Ensuring the new lock's versatility and consumer friendliness, Schlage says that homeowners can manage the lock's features and operate it with either the Amazon Key app or with its own Schlage Home app.
The Key app facilitates the integration of the app with Ring video doorbells and cameras in a more streamlined manner. Ring users can lock and unlock their doors directly from the Live View of their camera in the Ring app.
For example, if a dog sitter arrives at a home and chimes a Ring Video Doorbell the homeowner can access a live feed from the Video Doorbell and they can verify the person and unlock the door.

In addition, the $250 Schlage Encode Smart WiFi Deadbolt offers these features:
- Users can create up to 100 unique guest access codes
- Codes can be created for certain times of day on recurring, temporary or one-time usage cases
- Homeowners can send virtual keys to guests
- The lock creates activity logs
- Integrators can configure built-in alarm warnings based on various types of disturbances
- Voice assistant options are available via Amazon Alexa
- The lock provides low-battery warnings
