The NBA’s Denver Nuggets (followed by the Colorado Avalanche) are the best sports team in the city where the annual CEDIA Expo is being held again, Sept. 5-7 (Conference Sept. 4-6). If you can make it, the event is a great way to help your company elevate from a good player to an All-Star, or maybe even MVP- and championship-caliber performance like the Nuggets’ Nikola Jokić.
Once again, the Emerald-owned event is poised to offer valuable education and training starting on the day before the show floor opens. While most of the Smart Stage sessions, held on the show floor, were still being finalized at press time, integrators can visit cediaexpo.com to find the full schedule of courses and speakers not only for CEDIA Expo but also the co-located Commercial Integrator Expo (CIX), which returns for its second year.
“I’m looking forward to CEDIA Expo and CIX 2024,” states Jason McGraw, group president, CEDIA Expo/CIX/KBIS at Emerald.
“We have several new show features this year including the Connectivity Pavilion where attendees can learn and ‘connect’ about the latest AV and data transport and connectivity platforms and products for signals, IoT and sensors including show floor briefings in the Pavilion’s Presentation Hub, sponsored by Z-Wave and other platforms.”
Education and Conference Remain Golden Opportunities for CEDIA Expo
This year’s show promises plenty of education tracks geared towards some of the hottest topics in the custom integration space such as Control Systems and Assistive Technologies; Lighting and Ambiance; Home Theater and Immersive Audio; IT, Networking, Security, and AI; Power Management, Energy, and Sustainability; Business Strategies and Project Management; and Architecture, Design, and Build.

“Lighting and motorized shade technology is exploding at the shows this year with numerous lighting fixture and control brands showing off their latest products in the Lighting Pavilion and within lighting topic sessions in the CEDIA Conference, CIX Conference and manufacturer training sessions,” McGraw adds.
“Leading brands including Lutron, DMF, Aspire/WAC, Savant, American Lighting, Hunter Douglas, Graber, and Draper among dozens of other lighting and shade exhibitors on the show floor.”
Additionally, new this year is the CEDIA Executive Insights Forum, which is described as “a premier, separately ticketed event at CEDIA Expo providing an unparalleled experience for senior-level decision-makers in the smart home technology integration & installation industry.”
CIX Offers Plenty of Cross Industry Expansion
Dan Ferrisi, CE Pro sister brand’s group editor, Commercial & Security, is also enthused to visit Denver again as host of the CIX Smart Stage. Coming off June’s commercially focused InfoComm event, Ferrisi sees that momentum carry into CIX, which will feature many more exhibitors than last year, according to McGraw.
“I’m excited about how CEDIA Expo and CIX will reveal new opportunities for integrators to broaden their business portfolio, either by targeting new client groups (e.g., resi into commercial, or vice versa) or by going deeper with existing client groups (e.g., AV into security),” he says.
“I’ll be doing an education session, ‘How to Add Security Integration into Your AV Business,’ which will focus on exactly that.”
CIX will also provide an agenda of education tracks and take advantage of its relationship with the Interactive Multimedia and Collaborative Communications Alliance (IMCCA) to bolster the curriculum.
“I’m excited about the IMCCA’s education track, which will explore topical trends in the UC&C space and examine the future of workplaces, education, and collaboration,” Ferrisi says.
Media Demos Another Standout Attraction on the Expo Floor
Back on the CEDIA Expo side, a big highlight that McGraw points to is the lineup of sound rooms that will attract integrators on the show floor.
“Audio returns to CEDIA Expo this year in a big way with more sound demo rooms and new loudspeaker, processing, and amplification products and solutions from the industry’s top brands including Harman, Origin Acoustics, Leon Speakers, Paradigm, Monitor Audio, Stealth Acoustics, Trinnov Audio, Sonos, Sonance, and many more,” McGraw notes. “Hear what you’ve been missing at the show!”
Moreover, don’t hear from others what you missed at the show — there are myriad reasons to attend CEDIA Expo 2024, so go register and we’ll see you there.
