URC’s New MX-990 Universal Remote Minimizes Learning Curves

The new MX-990 remote from Universal Remote Control (URC) utilizes narrow-band RF and is compatible with the company’s MX-980 programming files.


One of the pillars of the custom installation industry, URC (Universal Remote Control), is well known for its line of remote controls and control accessories. Adding to its selection of remotes, the N.Y.-based manufacturer has introduced its new MX-990 universal remote control.

The new MX series remote features the latest RF communication technologies, and like other URC products it leverages the company's CCP programming software to faciliate its programming. 

Highlighting the 990's list of user features is its 2.4-inch color LCD screen that communicates the remote's customizable programming and device status. URC says the graphics used for the LCD screen are stored in the remote and uploaded from the remote via a PC where they reside for archival purposes. URC also emphasizes the MX-990 can run MX-980 files to save programming steps to help facilitate the entire programming process. 

URC adds the MX-990 utilizes narrow-band RF technologies (418MHz), and it is fully compatible with the company's MX-980 remote control. Dealers can also pair the remote with URC's 408MHz-based MRX-350 and MRF-260 RF base stations, and it comes with a rechargeable battery and charging cradle.
