Modular lighting system manufacturer Deako is partnering with home builder network CBUSA to bring the company’s unique smart lighting technology to new builds across the U.S.
The three-year agreement aims to bring Deako’s smart lighting solutions and other smart technology to CBUSA’s network of builders and the 13,000-plus homes they build each year. This also helps homeowners save money by having the smart lighting solutions and electrical configured as part of the home’s original design, eliminating the need for updates and switch swaps.
Deako boasts the smart home industry’s first modular lighting control system, which wires into a standard junction box like other light switches, but acts as a receptor for any other Deako switch, including both smart and simple switches, dimmers, motion sensors, nightlights and more, the company says.
The company’s lighting system will be available to all CBUSA chapters, and members will have access to special pricing and rebates on qualifying purchases. The hope is that CBUSA builders can stand out in a competitive market with a unique lighting solution.
“We are excited to offer Deako to our members and to elevate home builders’ experiences, providing innovative lighting solutions that can be easily upgraded by builders themselves, putting the ultimate control back into their hands. Deako is a true partner to CBUSA, and we are excited to work together,” said Brian Pavlick, President of CBUSA.

Deako Founder and CEO Derek Richardson in a statement said the company is excited to bring their modular lighting system to CBUSA members and new homebuyers.
“This collaboration represents a significant step in making Deako the smart lighting choice for builders and home buyers alike, and we are excited to kick off this partnership,” Richardson said.
Deako has been active in securing industry partnerships, including with home building groups and integrations with home control platforms.
