Ultra HD's popularity continues to soar as more 4K display hardware continues to hit the market, and with the availability of content that supports Ultra HD disc format, consumers now have a growing choice of mediums to view 4K.
The latest product release from Tripp Lite enables integrators to distribute 4K content throughout a home or business. Tripp Lite's new HDBaseT Extenders incorporate the ability to transmit 4K x 2K content distances as far as 328 feet using standard Cat-5e/Cat-6/Cat-6a cables, and they feature support for 10/100 Ethernet and Power over Cable (PoC).
“Our new HDBaseT products are full-featured solutions that allow for the transmission of 4K UHD signals, while supporting serial, IR, Ethernet and PoC,” says David Posner, director of marketing for cables and connectivity, Tripp Lite. “With this broad range of solutions, we're meeting customers' needs to deliver great picture and sound in a cost-effective manner.”
Tripp Lite states its latest HDBaseT Extenders complement its existing line of HDBaseT products, and the new products provide choice of solutions beyond transceivers that include a 4×4 matrix. This new matrix allows users to share HDMI content from four components that can be distributed to four displays with resolutions as high as 3,840 x 2,160 at 30Hz.
Some of the extenders' other features include the ability to support HDCP, EDID functions, and the addition of multiple transceivers to enable 4K signal transmission up to 2,000 feet.
Tripp Lite points out the extenders also support audio formats such as Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Digital TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio. In addition, the Extenders incorporate control options for serial, RS-232 and IR, and the Chicago company says the products are all plug-and-play.
