With viewing audiences of more than 100 million people, the National Football League’s (NFL) championship game—the Super Bowl—is more than just another sporting event, it’s mainstream slice of pop culture that is often referred to now as Super Bowl Sunday. Helping to bring Super Bowl Sunday into the homes of those millions of Americans and beyond, Sony Professional is highlighting the products and systems being used exclusively throughout the festivities.
According to Sony Pro, in addition to supporting game-day Sunday content, its Hawk-Eye system will provide the NFL with its video replay technology to power the game’s Instant Replay capabilities.
Sony Pro also points out that for the first time game coverage will employ the company’s HDC series system cameras with 4x4K capabilities for enabling 4K zoom replays.

- Four HDC-4800 cameras (doing 4K x 4 times, and then cutting out HD)
- 63 HDC-5500 cameras

As part of the Halftime Show, which will be produced by Roc Nation with Cinema Technical Management by James Coker/Funicular Goats, and director/producer Hamish Hamilton of Done and Dusted, these products will be used:
- 10 VENICE 2 cameras
- Three VENICE cameras
- BURANO digital cinema camera
- 14 game cameras will be used during the halftime festivities
In addition, Sony Pro will support Super Bowl Sunday mobile trucks that include:
- NEP’s main gameday truck
- Game Creek’s efforts at the Bellagio stage and during the Nickelodeon broadcast
- F&F trucks supporting CBS Sports Network’s coverage from the Bellagio
