Whole-house audio is one of the best options available to homeowners seeking fun, affordable entertainment. Providing homeowners with the latest technologies to support whole-house entertainment is the manufacturer Simpfony.
The Easton, Pa.-based company recently introduced its new S2 hardware. The new generation of products incorporate the latest technologies from the computing industry without increasing the price.
The S2 product line supports up to 24 zones of audio. Other features include more USB ports, allowing for eight zones without a USB hub, built-in zone outputs, enabling analog and digital signals via an included mini-S/PDIF adapter, and provisions for an optional external CD player.
The dual-band 802.11ac/b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity provides setup flexibility for integrators during the installation process. Users can store music in Simfony's internal 100GB library.
Building upon its storage capabilities, one important feature built into the S2 is its network attached storage (NAS) options that allow users to maintain extensive music libraries.
Moreover, the S2 is capable of playing audio files stored on local networks and streaming from cloud-based services. Simpfony says the product's solid state design utilizes air cooling with no fans to ensure quiet operation, and it supports the playback of high-resolution audio content to meet the demands of music lovers and audiophiles.
Control apps are available for both iOS and Android via the Apple iTunes and Google Play stores. The product ships with a VESA mounting kit to faciliate rack-mount installations.
Simpfony says a four-zone system carries an MSRP of $1,499 with additional zone licenses available for $99 up to 24 zones.
