Samsung is expanding its 2023 TV lineup by adding a new 98-inch QLED 4K smart TV designed to give customers a larger screen without compromising picture quality.
The new TV, model 98Q80C, is aimed at large screen cinematic home entertainment use cases and features Direct Full Array and Quantum HDR+ technology for enhanced picture quality. The TV is offered at $7,999.99, but Samsung is also offering limited-time reserve and early order pricing promotions.
In addition, Samsung says the new QLED 4K Smart TV features the company’s Neural Quantum Processor to upscale content to 4K resolution regardless of its source format.
The TV also boasts a three-bezel-less design, but doesn’t sacrifice in audio quality thanks to Doly Atmos, Object Tracking Sound Lite and Q-Symphony 3.0, according to Samsung.
Samsung recommends an idea recommended viewing distance of around 10 feet, so viewers can see the impressive display from wherever they’re seated, per the company.
For gamers, the 98-inch TV comes with the Samsung Gaming Hub, an all-in-one platform that gives layers access to nearly 3,000 games from top gaming companies, including Xbox, NVIDIA GeForce NOW, Amazon Luna, Utomik, Antstream Arcade, and Blacknut with no console required.
In addition, the TV comes with Samsung TV Plus, the company’s free ad-supported TV and video-on-demand service available on all 2016-2023 Samsung Smart TVs, Galaxy mobile devices, select Family Hub refrigerators and on the web. This gives users access to over 1,900 channels globally and thousands of on-demand shows and movies from premium content partners, the company says.
When used with Samsung SmartThings, the new QLED 4K display can work together with other Samsung devices.
