Long before it was trendy to offer wireless whole-house audio systems, NuVo Technologies had launched a wireless whole-house audio specifically for custom electronics professionals. More recently the brand has made several small additions to its product line to supplement its wired and wireless systems.
NuVo's latest product announcement is a big one. The popular Legrand brand is introducing three new loudspeaker lines designed specifically for home theater installations. NuVo's new Series Two, Series Four and Series Six, left, center, right in-wall loudspeakers incorporate the company's latest audio technologies, as well as the ability to handle high levels of power and integrate into whole-house audio installations too.
“Our expanded line of NuVo Series speakers combine low profile, attractive design and great sound with installation flexibility that will keep the brand at the top of the list for integrators seeking sophisticated audio solutions,” says Fritz Werder, vice president, general manager, NuVo and On-Q product lines. “Our wide array of round and rectangular speakrs of various sizes and configurations, as well as the brackets and grills, are perfectly matched with our NuVo amplifiers to create the perfect audio experience for virtually any environment in the home.”
Taking a closer look at the three new product lines, the Two, Four and Six Series products offer a number of performance attributes:
- NuVo Series Six (NV-6IW6-LCR): Delivers clear and robust audio from two 6.5-inch carbon fiber/Kevlar woofers and a pivoting 1-inch Titanium tweeter.
- NuVo Series Four (NV-4IW5-LCR): NuVo says this line delivers clarity and dynamics from its pair of 5.25-inch glass-fiber woofers and pivoting 3/4-inch aluminum tweeter.
- NuVo Series Two (NV-2IW5-LCR): According to the company, the Two series provides “nuanced and balanced sound” from a pair of 5.25-inch poly woofers and a pivoting 1/2-inch silk-dome tweeter.
Complementing the new speakers, NuVo has also introduced six new preconstruction brackets: the NV-BRKIWC5LCR, the NV-BRKIW6, the NV-BRKIW6LCR, the NV-BRKIC6-ANG, the NV-BRK1C6 and the BRKIC8-ANG. The brackets are designed for fast and easy installation, and they include the company's color-coded Quick ID color system.
The brackets are made of ABS plastic with two 16-inch powder-coated metal extension arms with mounting holes every 3/4 of an inch. In addition, the brackets include “L” adapters that provide an added level of mounting versatility.
Further supporting the speakers, NuVo is offering four new speaker grills: the NV-RGIC6-SQR, the NV-RGIC6-ANGSQR, the NV-RGIC8-SQR and the NV-RGIC8-ANGSQR. The grill's bezelless infinity designs facilitate seamless room integration, and NuVo points out the grills feature epoxy coated steel frames.
The grills attach via the company's retention magnet system, and the grills include corner masking to help ensure a unified appearance. Moreover, the grills are sold with a removable and replaceable scrim clothes that protect the speakers from paint.
