Working somehow simultaneously under the premises of “bigger is better” and “keep it simple,” Remote Technologies, Inc. (RTI), has announced that its multipurpose KX10 in-wall touchpanel is now shipping.
RTI says its latest interface is specifically designed to bring simple control and automation to A/V, environmental and security system installations, and it combines control and HD video display capabilities into a single device.
“The advanced engineering of our new KX10 in-wall touchpanel makes it much more than just a control device,” says Mike Everett, vice president of sales and marketing, Americas, RTI. “With its large, high-resolution LCD, users also have a convenient place for viewing HD video via the unit's HDBaseT input, as well as analog video sources through the composite input port.”
The KX10 features a programmable 10.1-inch 1,280 x 800 WXGA resolution LCD screen that provides enough space for dealers to design customizable intuitive user interfaces. RTI states the touchpanel enables control over local devices via its IR and RS-232 outputs, and it also incorporates built-in intercom options, a proximity sensor, and an ambient light sensor that automatically adjusts screen brightness.
Pointing out some of the touchpanel's integrator features, RTI says the KX10 touchpanel offers built-in wireless Ethernet to enable dealers to retrofit the interface into existing homes and businesses, and wired 10/100 Base-T Ethernet with Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+).
Dealers can maximize the user experience of the KX10 with customized programming through the use of its drag-and-drop Integration Designer programming tool. Integrators can also utilize its selection of two-way drivers to integrate third-party products into the system to form complete end-to-end system solutions.
