Looking to assemble a great playlist for the Halloween season? You can always go with classics from Doctor Demento's radio program — songs such as “Monster Mash” and “Purple People Eaters.”
Pop music offers plenty of good content too. Think Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” and Rockwell’s “Someone’s Watching Me.”
But this season, let it be metal, the newly trendy genre that inspires celebrities these days to don t-shirts from Metallica, Iron Maiden, Guns n Roses, Anthrax and Slayer.

Metal is dark and fantastical, perfect for the season.
We could have easily have included “Madhouse” from Anthrax, as well as old-school metal from Grim Reaper “See you in Hell,” Testament “Souls of Black” Exodus “A Good Day to Die” Judas Priest “The Ripper” and Mercyful Fate “Black Funeral.”
Do you have any suggestions? It doesn't have to be metal; how about a favorite Halloween pop song or maybe a little Doctor Demento-type song or a movie soundtrack like Friday the 13th? Leave us a comment below!
