Level Home Inc. has announced a new next-generation platform for multifamily communities. According to the company, the platform is meant to address the complexities of building-wide access control and smart apartment automation with a strong emphasis on the user experience.
In addition, the company is launching its first smart doorbell designed exclusively for multifamily: the Level Doorbell. According to Level, the device will allow residents to greet, view, and let in guests from the Level app while being mindful of neighbor privacy and owner liability.
It also includes one-way video, two-way audio, package identification intelligence that notifies residents when deliveries arrive.
“We are bringing world-class engineering and design to a market that has been largely underserved,” says John Martin, Co-Founder and CEO of Level. “First-generation smart apartment platforms lack the quality and reliability that building owners and operators should come to expect. With Level technology and innovation finally there is an answer.”
Founded in 2016 as a smart home automation company, Level Home has been building out its multifamily offerings over the years, citing the space as an underserved market within the smart home industry.

In 2021, Level acquired Dwelo, another smart home provider, to help create a “strong foundation for Level to bring its innovation and engineering excellence to the multifamily industry,” the result of which can now be seen with Level’s new multifamily smart home platform.
With the release of its new multifamily platform, Level has announced it will retire the Dwelo brand and carry forward existing customer and partner relationships.
A Look at Level’s Multifamily Smart Home Platform
Level notes its latest platform is designed to address the complexities of building-wide access control and smart apartment automation by connecting other smart home product commonly used in multifamily settings onto a single control and monitoring platform.
For owners of these properties, this allows for a greater customization of hardware, software and services to fit the varied needs and space requirements of each property. Each product associated with the platform is also designed to help cut operational and energy costs while modernizing the property, which, as Level notes, is designed to attract quality renters while optimizing rent.
For managers, the platform’s space and entrance model is designed to simplify user management and access control by condensing it all into a single application. Meanwhile, residents get full control of daily routines such as climate control, lighting and access to community spaces.
“We are excited to bring the next wave of innovation to the industry and deliver practical, simple solutions to known challenges,” says Ned Murphy, Chief Revenue Officer of Level. “Level has proven there is a better way to bring technology into our homes and we’re thrilled to carry that impact into multifamily communities.”
The platform is currently in beta in select communities and is expanding to more customers this summer with additional releases to follow.
