Gryphon Online Safety Inc., a networking equipment manufacturer, has announced its partnership with and investment from Harmony to develop MetaSafe.
MetaSafe is an all-new Web3 blockchain project powered by Gryphon routers and developed using a unique proof-of-bandwidth and proof-of-memory algorithm to elevate internet safety and privacy for consumers to the next level. Gryphon’s privacy-first security mesh WiFi routers can run the solution in the MetaSafe decentralized blockchain, since they are always connected and always on, while also having plenty of built-in memory and processing power. Gryphon owners can participate as miners to earn MetaSafe utility tokens (MSTs), creating a network of tens-of-thousands of Gryphons that can now work together to provide ultimate security and privacy for everyone. MetaSafe will be launching on select Gryphons later this year.
“We are really excited to be a strategic investor and partner in Gryphon’s new MetaSafe project,” says Boris Polania of Harmony.
“This project will help bridge the Gryphon and Harmony communities, and enable more people to participate on the Harmony One blockchain.”
The first application running on MetaSafe will be an identity and password management called “me.” Unlike traditional solutions where your identity and passwords are stored on a central server, Gryphon’s “me” will store users’ personal information on the MetaSafe blockchain, giving the decentralized network the power to protect your private information instead of a single brand, making it more resilient to hacking.
Gryphon will also be providing tools to partners to build additional applications. Using MetaSafe smart contracts, third-parties can build Web3 apps such as people’s VPN, secure DNS, and data sharing applications (like Amazon Sidewalk). As opposed to big tech and their big clouds and servers, MetaSafe gives the control of users’ data, security, privacy, and network back to the people.
“Our partnership with Harmony and their market-leading blockchain, is the perfect way to jumpstart Gryphon’s new MetaSafe project,” adds John Wu, founder and CEO of Gryphon.
“Gryphon’s commitment to making the internet a safer place for the next generation is what inspired us to build MetaSafe for Web3, so that everyone can have access to safe, secure and private internet.”
