The newly announced Marantz AV7706 is an 11.2-channel surround sound preamplifier that includes a choice of balanced (XLR) and unbalanced (RCA) pre outs.
Marantz points out that its new surround sound preamplifier incorporates its proprietary HDAM circuitry in the preamp section, and ELNNA capacitors in the analog section.
Supporting a range of AV signals, the AV7706 offers eight HDMI inputs and three outputs. One of the HDMI inputs supports 8K video at 60Hz or 4K at 120Hz pass-through. The preamp also provides compatibility the ability to handle 4:4:4 chroma sub sampling; it supports the Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR10 HDR formats, as well as the BT.2020 wide color gamut, and a 21:9 aspect ratio.
Other options the AV7706 surround sound preamplifier provides include HDMI eARC, and today’s immersive audio formats such as Dolby Atmos and DTS:X.
Additional features such as built in Spotify, Pandora, SiriusXM, Amazon Music HD, TIDAL, and Deezer, along with Bluetooth, Apple AirPlay 2, and the company’s HEOS whole-house audio platform provide lots of streaming options.
Integrator-friendly options include support for the OvrC and Domotz Pro remote monitoring platforms, and RS-232 and IP control capabilities.
