The Nortek Security & Control brand 2GIG has introduced its two latest Smoke Heat Freeze Detectors.
2GIG‘s two latest products were developed to detect fire issues and recognize smoke from common man-made materials to decrease nuisance alarms from everyday activities such as cooking.
Both Smoke Heat Freeze Detectors incorporate newly updated optical sensors and detection algorithms, with one getting improved encryption technologies for more secure communications with the company’s security panels.
2GIG points out that its latest detectors help to monitor homes and provide reports on extreme temperatures. The products meet the UL217 8th Edition standard by increasing response times.
The company explains the products’ functionality by stating they send high temperature alerts to security panels. In the event an alert is sent, a siren is activated when ambient temperatures exceed 134 degrees. The products will also send a Rate-of-Rise warning to security panels when ambient temperatures rise to 104 degrees or if the temperature rises more than 15 degrees in a minute.
Additionally, if temperatures fall below 40 degrees in one minute the detectors will also send an alert to security panels.
