A lot of high-end manufacturers seem to be making music for the masses. Headphones are the hot seller these days, and you don’t need a big home theater or even a room to enjoy these portable products.
The latest to get into headphones is KEF, which has launched the M Series of over-ear and in-ear models.
KEF’s M500 over-ear headphones use a full-range 40mm neodymium driver with a light, copper-clad aluminum voice-coil. Other features include an aluminum frame, breathable and sweat-resistant memory foam earpads, and the “Smart Hinge” for folding up the set for travel.
For something a little smaller, the M200 in-ear buds have a user-adjustable Secure Arm and a rigid aluminum driver, as well as DDD (Dual Dynamic Driver) technology, a 10mm driver for the bass, and a 5.5mm dynamic neodymium driver for midrange and high frequencies.
KEF says both M Series models are compliant with the CENELEC standard (EN60065/A12) for protection against hearing damage caused by excessive sound volume.
KEF has priced the M500 at $299.99, with the M200 coming in at $100 less. If you want to check out the KEF M500 in action.
