The DaVinci Group, Inc. (TDG), a manufacturer of architectural audio and other A/V integration products under the TDG Audio, Vanguard Dynamics and Blue Aura brands, has announced the sudden passing the company's CEO Daniel Kippycash. Kippycash passed away suddenly after a very brief medical event at the Littleton Adventist Hospital in Littleton, Colo.
In December 2012, Kippycash and chief technology officer Alex Chiou founded the DaVinci Group, a company Kippycash described as his “dream” company. It was his dream he said, because it represented the culmination of a series of entrepreneurial ventures that encapsulated all of the lessons he learned throughout his career, which in turn were all applied to TDG.
“All of us at The DaVinci Group are shocked and saddened by Dan's untimely passing,” states Jeff Francisco, president of The DaVinci Group, Inc. “His vision and strategic clarity have been the foundation upon which this company was built, and we will miss his ongoing insight and guidance.”
Throughout his life Kippycash battled the disease diabetes and as a result Kippycash and TDG had developed a strategic transition plan, which Dan himself helped to create. In accordance with those corporate transition plans, Jeff Francisco, president of The DaVinci Group, assumes all responsibilities of chief executive officer (CEO). The company says day-to-day operations have been absorbed by existing staff and no service interruptions are anticipated.
Kippycash was born on October 21, 1966 and passed away April 3, 2016 at 49 years of age. During his career many came to know Kippycash when he was employed as Crestron's director of business development. In 2000 he was a founding partner in Xplore Solutions, an IP-based automation control system manufacturer. Five years later he became a founding partner in The Momentum Group, a concierge technology company targeted at the MDU market. After his tenure at the Momentum Group Kippycash became the product manager for the Nirv automation system at SpeakerCraft, the company where he would become associated with colleagues Alex Chiou and Jeff Francisco.
Mac Burks, aka 39 Cent Stamp, created the Dan Kippycash action figure during Dan's tenure at SpeakerCraft.
