Custom installers will find solutions to meet a variety of their home theater and media room requests and challenges if they stop by the Elite Screens suite (31-219) at the Venetian during CES 2016 in Las Vegas.
The company's dedicated custom division, EPV (Elite Prime Vision, which launched a couple of years ago), made the move to the Venetian to be surrounded by the like-minded A/V companies during CES this year, according to marketing manager David Rodgers.
“It was a sound move since the suites offer a better representation of a home theater or other indoor A/V environments where our screens will likely be used,” he says.
Considering the challenging lighting conditions found within those suites, the decision befits what Elite will be featuring to demo for custom installers and other attendees to the show. Chief in theme for EPV is light rejection material, which will be highlighted in advancements to the company's eFinity PolarStar ambient light rejecting material on hand as well as its Aeon CLR – ceiling light rejecting material.
Rodgers notes that the latter product specifically rejects overhead lighting, ideal for some home applications and training room conditions in particular. Both products feature an “edge free” aesthetic to meet homeowners' requests for a projection screen that appears more like today's super-thin bezel flat panels; and both also have multicolor LED lighting kits for some extra flair.
The eFinity PolarStar is ISF certified on image color/contrast, 4K ready and polarized for passive 3D applications. The Aeon CLR is active 3D and 4K ready, and the company says its StarBright CLR material absorbs up to 95 percent of overhead lighting – specifically designed for ultra short-throw projectors – and offers 100x contrast enhancement over standard white matte screen material.
Elite will also be showing a couple of motorized screen options for further installation flexibility, both of which were introduced to the residential and commercial integration community in 2015.
The VMAX Dual offers the twist of alternating 16:9 and 2.35:1 screens that lower and raise so viewers can always have the proper aspect ratio for whatever movie or TV content they're watching; it has matte white material that is 3D and Ultra HD 4K ready.
And the Saker Tab-Tension AUHD features Sonic White acoustically transparent material; strong and fast-acting tubular motor; and full IR, RF and RJ45 control package, according to Elite.
