CEDIA Tease: Apollo Set to Debut 85-inch Outdoor TV Enclosure

Apollo Enclosures’ new Model AE8580 enclosure with an MSRP of $3,695 for outdoor TVs includes internal speakers, anti-reflective glass, multi-fan airflow system, 12-degree tilt wall mount and custom fit dust cover.


Apollo Enclosures (booth #1315) will introduce its largest and most innovative all-weather outdoor TV enclosure at CEDIA 2016. Model AE8580 is an 85-inch all-weather outdoor enclosure that allows an 80- to 85-inch slimline TV to be deployed outdoors. The new model will be available December 2016, with an estimated MSRP of $3,695, which includes an all-weather non-articulating,12-degree tilt wall mount and a custom fit dust cover.

“Apollo has made a conscious effort to redefine the outdoor TV enclosure category with elegant style, advanced engineering, and premium quality components,” says Lynn Stearn, president of Apollo Enclosures. “Using this formula we designed Model AE8580, and added innovative features that promise to outperform every outdoor enclosure on the market, and bridge the gap between traditional outdoor TVs.”

The IP 55 rated Model AE8580 is engineered with the company’s proprietary all-weather outdoor feature set that includes a sleek and durable lightweight powder coated aluminum construction with anti-reflective safety glass that further protects the customer’s TV and improves contrast while significantly reducing ambient reflection. Apollo’s TightSeal technology securely seals the enclosure and protects the TV from rain, snow, dust, and insects; and, the cable connections to the TV inputs and outputs are shielded with a water-tight cable cover.

The temperature within the enclosure is controlled with a multi-fan filtered air-flow system that safeguards the TV in temperatures of -4 degrees (-20 C) to 122 degrees F (50 C). The 9-foot outdoor rated power cord provides the necessary safety for power in the outdoor environment.

A new feature to the Model AE8580 is a built-in stereo sound system with an internal amplifier that is selectable to drive the enclosure’s waterproof speakers, or it can be bypassed to drive the customer’s external speaker system. The audio can be adjusted through an IR remote control for power on/off and volume control with LED indicator light.

Apollo’s turn-key mounting solution includes E-Z Mount pivoting interior TV brackets that allow for simplified TV installation, easy access for TV cable wiring and convenient cable management.  There is also sufficient space provided for installing and protecting baluns, media players or other peripheral equipment.

This model provides three internal power outlets; one for the TV and two auxiliary for accessory devices. Two one-foot extension power cables are included to accommodate internal connection of power packs or right-angle plugs.

Available accessories include a thermostatically controlled heater module for areas of high humidity or where temperatures dip below 0 degrees F. Modesty frames are also available for framing smaller size TV’s in the enclosures. Standard in black, Apollo offers three designer colors upgrades in Silver, Metallic Sandstone, and White.

Also at CEDIA 2016, Apollo will display three of the four sizes in its line of all-weather outdoor enclosures that includes:

  • Model AE4239 that fits TV sizes from 39- to 43-inches with an MSRP of $995
  • Model AE5550 that fits TV sizes from 50- to 55-inches with an MSRP starting at $1,395
  • Model AE6560 that fits TV sizes from 60- to 65-inches with an MSRP starting at $1595
