Serving both the commercial and residential markets, the Midwest-based company Vanco makes a variety of signal transmission products.
The Ill.-based manufacturer's latest product is its new Evolution HDMI Extender with KVM and PoE. Vanco says the extender transmits audio and video via HDMI, as well as KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) via USB 2.0. The extender transmits these signals over a single Cat-5e/Cat-6 up to 164 feet (50 meters) with PoE (power over Ethernet) options.
Vanco says the extender works with HDMI 1.4, which includes compatibility with 1920×1080 at 60Hz, along with auto EDID management and auto EQ to ensure HDMI signals are properly transmitted and received.
The units' USB ports support charging of USB devices, and Vanco points out the receiver unit includes a Hi-Fi USB audio card that supports passive earphone and microphone access.
Vanco adds the products can be used for commercial and residential installations to streamline the installation process for installation professionals.
