Ultra HD 4K is an important part of today's video market, and with the growing adoption of HDR, these technologies are straining home video system infrastructures.
Helping to prevent system failures before they happen is the electronics manufacturer Kramer. The latest product from the company, which specializes in signal management solutions is its 860 HDMI 18G Signal Generator & Analyzer.
Kramer says the 860 HDMI 18G Signal Generator & Analyzer is a device that professional integrators can use for the generation of signal patterns and the testing and verification of advanced video systems. The product is capable of testing systems with resolutions as high as 4K at 60Hz 4:4:4 chroma subsampling. It is also compatible with HDM1 2.0 HDCP 2.2.
In total, the company says the test tool produces 88 resolutions, 55 test patterns and more than a dozen A/V analysis functions. Some of the test functions include HDMI data packet, EDID and HDCP analysis. Kramer says the tester also supports EDID upload and emulation.
The unit also monitors Status and Control Data Channel (SCDC) to provide 18G signal detection, and in addition, as many as eight channels of LPCM audio test tones are also available.
Inputs include HDMI, Ethernet, USB and unbalanced stereo audio via 3.5mm. Output formats include HDMI, 15-pin VGA and 3.5mm unbalanced stereo.
A choice of RS-232, Telnet, and IR control options, and a front OLED display with current status updates round out Kramer's long list of features.
