CEDIA Q&A: Lutron Helps Dealers Grow Their Business on Every Project

What would you say Lutron’s vision is for 2017?

We continue to position Lutron as the brand and category leader for aesthetic, intuitive, and reliable control of lights, shades and temperature, and to integrate with a growing base of world-class brands and synergistic categories. Lutron remains committed to providing lifestyle upgrades across virtually every residential market segment and to developing superior products that will stand the test of time.

How can Lutron help dealers grow their business?

More than ever, our brand and categories are becoming increasingly more important to every “connected home” infrastructure. We can absolutely help our dealers to grow their business through regularly scheduled planning meetings, identifying key stakeholders within each organization to ensure success, focusing on our annual channel programs, and utilizing our broad portfolio of training, demo, print, digital, and social media marketing and sales tools.

What are the “must see” attractions at Lutron’s booth?

We are excited about our ability to continue to enhance our brand value around new product introductions, expanded alliance partnerships, and innovations in software to support the growth of both new and upgrade solutions businesses. We remain steadfast and focused on the precision control of emerging LED sources, high performance LED fixtures, electric light, daylight, temperature, and more.

What would you say dealers need to know about the future of technology and the connected home?

Convergence through integration of best-class brands will continue to accelerate and help to simplify and streamline the technology that will enhance our lives. Our industry has never been so well positioned to create available synergy and growth with residentially focused architects, designers, builders, and developers.

How can dealers/installers take best advantage of the mid-market, connected home opportunity?

We recognize that many traditional dealers are successfully focused around serving the needs of the luxury segment client. Lutron is working very hard to support increasing adoption of new simple, affordable, and reliable home control and automation solutions for the mid-market homebuyer and homeowner.

These efforts will pay dividends to dealers who will serve the future needs of “move-up” homebuyers, as well as offer an opportunity for today’s successful dealers to expand their business by developing a business model to reach the untapped base of mid-market new and existing homes.

What specifically does Lutron do to promote and recognize their customers?

We take great pride in our commitment to our residential dealers and work very hard to promote and recognize their achievements through our annual Excellence Awards competition, Hall of Fame induction, and through jointly-created articles and case studies featuring our dealers and their projects.

What are the essential ingredients to Lutron’s success?
