Many consumers and small businesses use Brother products such as its L5000 and L6000 printers on a daily basis. For users happy with those products and wanting to step into some of Brother's higher volume solutions, the large manufacturer has just announced several new products it calls its, “most powerful, reliable and durable” series of Monochrome laser printers and all-in-one solutions.
Steve Feldstein, director of marketing, business laser & scanner products, Brother International Corporation, points out that Brother's newest products are the result of a heavy investment in R&D to produce products that deliver the reliability and print speed business users demand.
“As the focal point of our new Brother Workhorse Series, these products demonstrate our leadership in delivering business solutions,” says Feldstein. “These machines are part of the most significant laser launch in our company's history, building on our legacy of quality, dependability and business focus.”
Brother says the growing popularity of mobile devices and the evolution of workgroup printing has had a major impact on the modern workforce. After commissioning a study on employee productivity, Brother found that “poor allocation of office devices” lessen businesses' revenues, and it says this problem wastes 4,000 hours and nearly $130,000 per year in walks back-and-forth to copiers and printers. Brother's solution to this problem is a methodology that utilizes shared all-in-ones and single-function printers in strategically placed locations. Supporting this strategy is the Workhorse Series and products like the flagship HL-L6400DW and MFC-L6900DW all-in-one products.
“The changing workplace and business work patterns require different workflow management,” notes Feldstein. “This monochrome laser line-up represents the strongest, broadest and most business focused feature range in Brother's history, and it is in tune with the needs of today's fast-paced business environment.”
These new flagship products offer up to 52 pages per minute of print speeds, and the MFC-L6900DW all-in-one scans up to 50 images per minute for single images and two-sided monochrome scanning up to 100 images per minute.
Explaining the products' operational costs, Brother says that when businesses use its super high-yield toner cartridge, they can print as many as 12,000 pages, and it also offers an ultra high-yield cartridge that delivers as much as 20,000 pages.
Brother supports the producst with an optional add-on tower tray that turns these desktop solutions into floorstanding devices. Other options built into the products include cloud sharing through its Brother Web Connect function, NFC card readers that provide walk-up authorization to release print jobs and access to other functions bundled into the machines. Network authorization options also protect information and aid in the products' regulatory compliance.
Summing up the cost savings the products provide, Brother adds the printers and all-in-ones are capable of delivering anywhere from 19 percent to 29 percent savings in cost of ownership.
