Leviton and JBL are two of the biggest names in the world of electronics. When large companies like this collaborate, dealers and their clients are often the biggest benefactors.
Expanding on their existing partnership the two manufacturers have announced five new loudspeakers that are designed to fulfill the needs of professional installers and general consumers.
The Leviton Architectural Edition, Powered by JBL line now includes:
- LAE5I low-profile, in-wall center channel loudspeaker
- LAEAW indoor/outdoor all-weather loudspeaker
- LAESB soundbar with wireless subwoofer
- LAE5S freestanding loudspeaker
- LAESW subwoofer
“Leviton is delighted to expand our high-end speaker offering for custom installers worldwide,” says James Shurte, product manager, Leviton Engergy Management, Control & Automation. “Our new in-wall speakers with magnetic grilles, the understated soundbar, the weather-resistant outdoor speaker, plus the center channel and subwoofer additions are strong assets to an already impressive product line that features in-wall, in-ceiling and home theater speaker options.”

Leviton says the LAE5I In-Wall Center Channel Loudspeaker and the LAEAW Indoor/Outdoor All Weather Loudspeaker were developed for professional installers. The LAE5I is described as a “Dual 5 and 1/4-inch Two-Way In-Wall Center Channel Loudspeaker,” with an almost invisible bezelless magnetic grille and snap-on wings to aid the installation process.
The speaker can be used for center channel and LCR applications within a high-performance home theater system.
The LAEAW is a speaker installers can use indoors and outdoors, and the company points out the speaker employs gold-plated binding posts that help facilitate its use in residential and commercial settings.
Rounding out the remaining products, Leviton points out the other three loudspeakers are easy-to-install speakers that are “designed for the distribution marketplace.”
Leviton says the LAESB soundbar with wireless subwoofer and Bluetooth is a solution that can be combined with a flat-panel television to create a turnkey multichannel A/V system.
The LAE5S freestanding loudspeaker is a “Dual 5 and 1/2 Two-Way Shelf-Mount Center Channel Loudspeaker that installs into environments where “an installed speaker is not practical.”
The LAESW powered subwoofer delivers low frequency sound to support home theater content playback, and Leviton adds the subwoofer features a modern industrial design.
