When Centennial, CO-based Quality Audio Video (QAV) was asked to engineer a fully customized entertainment and control experience for a client, they turned to Crestron and DISH.
“DISH has been a great partner. The entire team is very responsive. Concierge has been there for us every step of the way,” said Tyson Rabani, Owner and Founder of QAV.
The 8,000 sq. ft. craftsman-style living space would require 8 video zones and 12 audio zones to cover the space.
To manage the AV, Rabani installed Crestron Digital Media (DM) for video distribution and a Crestron SWAMP Sonnex amplifier to manage the audio.
The primary sources on the system would be a Hopper 3 DVR from DISH and two 4K Joey thin client receivers.

Register Now!At the center of the system, a Crestron CP3 processor was configured with the IP control module, enabling the customer to control TV entertainment with ease. Control interfaces around the home would include a half dozen Crestron touch panels and a TSR-310 handheld controller. “This project went smoothly. The DISH technician made life easier by having the installation details determined ahead of the install date,” added Rabani.

“Honestly it took us time to find our rhythm to offer DISH. Now, we mention DISH at the initial meetings and during pre-wire discussions. It’s an opportunity to make the client’s life easier by taking something off their plate they don’t want to deal with. And it gives you control over the scheduling and install so your process runs more smoothly.
The client experience was a 10/10. They enjoyed having QAV manage this aspect of the project for them. They also enjoy the interface, features, and ease of operation.”
All of the system TVs are Sony, including the theater projector. Leon supplied handcrafted soundbars for the TVs to ensure a uniform look throughout.
