What would you say to dealers who are already familiar with your product line?
It has been an exciting year for Barco Residential, with the introduction of our new Loki 4K laser projector and a lot of new exciting partnerships.
After the success of our cinema demo at CEDIA last year, we are looking forward to taking it to the next level again with our 4K 6P laser projector showcased in the cinema at home demo at our CEDIA booth. This also features a sneak preview of our new Alchemy server, with HDMI 2.0 / HDCP 2.2 connectivity and HDR compatibility.
Barco Residential desires to be much more than the creator of the world’s best projectors for the finest cinemas at home and media rooms. Combining technology leadership with architectural design, our ambition is to bring innovative, visual experiences to all areas of the finest residences. At CEDIA, you will experience our application-based solutions, including a high-end media solution, an integrated custom rear projection TV with CinemaScope or 16 x 9 aspect ratio, and Direct LED solutions. Using our established components and process, these packaged solutions are designed for the custom integration channel, enabling our partners to create fully integrated solutions that perfectly suit their client’s homes and lifestyles.
What would you say to dealers who are stumbling across your company for the first time?
Most integrators know the name Barco, but are not necessarily aware of Barco Residential. Barco Residential draws upon our company’s strengths as a global technology leader in visualization, bringing world-class image quality, design and craftsmanship to high-end homes. Our projectors are developed and manufactured in Belgium and Norway, designed from the ground up with one goal in mind – to show the best possible images in any setting.
From purpose-built lenses and optics, to custom-made electronics processing boards, we can provide complete solutions in which every component is selected to fulfill the architectural and performance requirements of a room, custom-integrated to work harmoniously together. Barco Residential is committed to the CEDIA channel and bringing exceptional video experiences to homeowners.
If an integrator stops by your booth with only 5 minutes to spare, what’s the one product he should examine or one question he should ask?
You will not want to miss the demonstration of our 4K 6P laser projector – the star of last year’s show and even better this year – delivering the ultimate home cinema experience. But five minutes is too short to get that full experience, so I would encourage integrators with only five minutes to spare to view our ultimate media solution, featuring a custom-designed, high-resolution screen – allowing you to work with multiple content sources in a unique way.
What’s your most memorable CEDIA moment?
CEDIA Expo 2014 marked the debut of Barco Residential, a memorable opportunity which allowed us to share, for the first time, our vision for the future of architectural visualization and high-end cinemas at home. This was topped off by our VIP event at Denver’s historic clock tower, which was the perfect location to celebrate Barco’s 80th anniversary together with our guests and partners, who gave us a wonderful reception at the show. All of this combined resulted in CEDIA Expo 2014 always being a special memory for us.
Do you have any giveaways, contests or quirky features planned for CEDIA?
We will be hosting a Belgian Beer Bar at our booth on Thursday and Friday, for a different kind of high-end experience.
Think of your closest competitor. What is one thing you do offer that they don’t?
One thing that partners have shared with us is that they feel Barco Residential is the first manufacturer to not only have a vision and a strategy for the residential market that pays homage to both the art and technology of cinema integration, but also the technological capability and solutions to deliver on that vision.
To partners, this means a unique level of image quality coupled with architectural design that allows them to deliver technology and solutions that create unique experiences for their clients. That’s what we aspire to, and rather than any single product or feature, this is what will set us apart from competition.
