The international video products manufacturer Barco has already had a busy ISE 2016 show. Adding to its popular line of commercial projectors, the high-performance equipment manufacturer has announced its new F90 Series of projectors.
Designed to serve a range of commercial applications ranging from pro A/V to events, the F90 series is engineered to deliver up to 13,000 lumens and WUXGA (1,920 x 1,200) and UltraHD 4K resolutions.
“Professionals in the venue and visitor attractions markets are facing a number of challenges where visitors expect to be wowed by a unique experience. This demands A/V products to deliver superior image quality, while reducing installation time, downtime, and setup and maintenance costs,” notes Gary Fuller, vice president ProAV, Barco. “When developing our latest projector platform, we investigated how we could address these challenges. The razor-sharp image quality and laser phosphor light source of the 1-chip DLP F90 projectors enable venues to provide stunning experiences while saving both time and money.”
At the foundation of the F90 Series' performance is a single-chip DLP-based laser phosphor light engine. Barco points out the laser-phosphor light engine provides dealers with a high-brightness, low-maintenance solution that delivers up to 40,000 hours of operating time without the need to change lamps.
The first two F90 Series products is the F90-4K13 that produces 4K resolutions (more than 8 million pixels) and highly saturated colors to meet Rec. 709 color gamut specifications. Barco backs the product with choice of its FLD and FLD+ lenses that range from ultra-short throw (0.28:1) to long-throw (9.75:1), and the company points out these lenses are also compatible with its F32 and F35 projectors. The other F90 product to be announced is the WUXGA F90-W13, which will be available in the third quarter of this year. Barco adds the F90-4K13 will be available in the fourth quarter of this year.
“By expanding our projector fleet with a 4K, laser phosphor unit, we’ve also made a significant move in the 13,000-lumen projector segment for the rental and staging and corporate events industries,” says Carl Rijsbrack, vice president, events, Barco. “Excelling in image quality and flexibility, rental customers can now choose for the future – reaping the business benefits for many years to come.”
