In both the residential and commercial markets, there's been an explosion of interest in outdoor A/V. Expanding its selection of commercial products, the West Coast manufacturer Apollo Enclosures has announced its Pro line of outdoor enclosures to serve the growing interest of outdoor video.
Apollo Enclosures says its new Pro line of enclosures can be used for applications like digital signage. The products are designed to protect displays, especially in commercial environments, to provide years of reliable use.
“We've seen a definite uptick in the interest of high-brightness, outdoor digital signage applications, however often times the expense of the available outdoor display technology is more than the customers can afford or has been willing to pay,” notes Lynn Stearn, president of Apollo Enclosures. “Installing a state-of-the-art,ultra bright display in an Apollo DS enclosure provides the best outdoor DS solution with better pricing and easier service or fture upgrades compared to competitive solutions.”
Apollo Pro Series Built to Withstand the Elements
Built with powder coated aluminum housings, Apollo's Pro line features five built-in fans and a filtration system to keep high-brightness displays running reliably in temperature environments ranging from -4 degrees Fahrenheit to 122 degrees Fahrenheit.
Apollo points out the Pro line also features anti-reflective safety glass that helps to protect installed displays, while reducing glare and reflections.
The displays, which are available in a choice of two models DS5550 (fits 50 inch to 55 inch displays) and DS6560 (fits 60 inch to 65 inch displays), also incorporate Apollo's Tight Seal technology. The Moorpark, Calif.-based company says Tight Seal securely seals enclosures and protects displays from rain, snow, dirt and insects. Apollo notes that cable connections, including inputs and outputs are protected by a water-tight cover.

Apollo adds that it also includes a 9-foot outdoor-rated power cord that provides power for use in outdoor environments.
Other dealer convenience features include the company's E-Z mount interior display brackets that expedite the installation process. Apollo says the enclosure offers three power outlets: One for the fans; one for the display and one for outboard media players, which also can be protected within the enclosures.
Some of the optional accessories that support the Pro line include a thermostatically controlled heater module for areas with high humidity or where the temperatures drop below 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
Color options include silver, metallic sandstone and white, and Apollo also offers a selection of all-weather stainless steel hardware.
