Throughout the history of the custom installation and commercial electronics markets dealers have become more detailed oriented. A good example of their increased focus is the design and installation of rack-mounted electronics and the sophistication in which dealers neatly design and organize these systems.
One aspect of these rack installs that are sometimes overlooked however, is the thermal management of these rack-mounted systems. Helping dealers to manage this aspect of the rack design and equipment maintenance process is Active Thermal Management (ATM).
ATM's newly announced 2U-high part number 00-306-01 Cool Rack product is designed for small- and medium-sized jobs moving 120 cfm, and the Valencia, Calif.-based company says the cooling unit pulls heat up through the rack and out. Designed for a quick and easy installation, ATM points out that dealers mount it at the top of a rack with a vent panel at the bottom of a rack or it can be placed just above a hot running piece of gear.
The company adds the product can cool everything from amplifiers and A/V receivers, to source components and even console gaming systems.
ATM's Cool Rack carries an MSRP of $375.
