Sound Ideas (Chris Hornsby) is currently working on an ongoing project at a ranch in West Texas. The main house is over 16,000 sq. feet, with 14 receivers in it. There’s also a pool house with another 3 receivers. In addition, the client is currently building an 8,000 sq. foot guest house, which will have more Dish receivers in it.

The main house is using a total of 14 Dish receivers. There are two Hopper3 STBs in the AV rack, that feed two outdoor tv’s.
Chris chose to do this to keep the Dish STBs out of the elements. Each Hopper3 has 6 Joey4K STBs connected to them.
All of the Joey receivers are physically sitting behind the tv to which they are connected, and they are sending the audio back to the AV rack for audio playback through the room’s ceiling speakers. They felt like this was a more stable setup, vs. an HDMI dist. system. There are two separate Dish’s that run the main house.
The pool house has a Hopper3 for the indoor TV, and two Joey 4K STBs for the two outdoor tv’s. They are connected to a separate reflector on the pool house.
The future guest house will have multiple receivers in it, all connected to their own reflector on that building.

From Chris: “My advice to other dealers considering DISH? First, the equipment is rock-solid. It works. It is hands down better than anything else out there. Second is the Dish Concierge team – these guys are the best of the best. They help us with site surveys and mapping out equipment needs. Last but not least, we can’t forget the technicians. These are the commercial level technicians who have a lot more experience and make the jobs go that much easier. They come ready to work, they’re used to working on larger projects, and they’re ready to think outside the box to find solutions.“
