During the CEDIA 2018 Expo in San Diego on Sept. 4-8, the AV over IP manufacturer Just Add Power (J+P) will partner with Guitar for Vets (G4V) to give away three Brian May BMG Special guitars.

Exhibiting in booth #5344 during the annual trade event, Just Add Power will give show attendees a chance to win a guitar each day at 3 p.m. with a drawing at its booth. The BMG Special guitar is an effort by Brian May, guitar player for the legendary band Queen to reproduce the famous guitar he has used throughout his career.

May and his father built the original guitar, which the BMG brand replicates, and Just Add Power states this is the third year it has worked with G4V during the show to support the charity's mission to raise awareness for musical therapy for veterans.

"CEDIA is the biggest show of the year for us, and we want to make sure we're giving back to the community and our veterans in a way that truly rocks," notes Taft Stricklin, sales team manager, Just Add Power.

"We're proud to bring the guitar giveaway back for a third year with the help of Guitar for Vets and Brian May Guitars."

Just Add Power says that each day at its booth show attendees must enter the daily drawing and be present at 3 p.m. for a chance to win a guitar.

Supporting the charity, Just Add Power will award G4V a guitar in tandem with each guitar it gives away on the CEDIA Expo 2018 show floor. Veterans will receive an acoustic guitar and a year's worth of lessons as part of Just Add Power's support of the charity.

Founded in 2007, G4V donates guitars to veterans to help them settle back into to normal daily life, as well as deal with the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) through the benefits of music.

Guitars for Veterans currently operates more than 80 chapters in 40 states with the assistance of more than 200 volunteers across the country.

As part of its mission, G4V provide veterans with guitar lessons, new acoustic guitars, and guitar accessory kits that are part of a program administrated by volunteers through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs facilities and community-based medical centers.

The BMG Rhapsody acoustic guitar features a double-cutaway design with mahogany back and sides and a spruce top. BMG points out the guitar employs a SONICORE under-saddle pickup and a Fishman PRESYS+ preamp.
