CEA Names 2014 Mark of Excellence Winners
The winners of the 2014 Mark of Excellence Awards, presented by the CEA's TechHome Division, were announced at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES). Here's a look at the winning products, installations, and top integrator of the year.
Category: Luxury Home of the Year between $150,000- $300,000 Integrator: Petrone Technology Group Inc. Project: Equestrian Paradise Interior of home is modern but still retains its warmth. Control of lighting, climate, shades,distributed audio / video, fire-pit, access control, security, gate, pool,theater, special art gallery lighting, ERVs,media,all electronics in full. Distributed audio throughout interior and exterior.Multiple buildings controlled. "Season" buttons on controllers allow home to change atmosphere for the time of year. Minimal look of electronics while still offering full, easy control. Video display for art. Wine room monitoring both temperature and humidity. System adjusts shades, climate and lights automaticly throughout the day and scenes change depending on time of year.Ability to log in remotely from office in Florida to make any changes. Self healing standalone network for automated systems. We chose RTI for the multiple controller options they offered. The "RTIPanel" allowed us to utilize multiple iPads in the residence for total control of all systems as well as the fire-pit.Other proprietary in-wall and wireless controllers were also used. In wall and table top inductive charging stations were used to charge the iPads throughout the residence. Multiple communication methods were used (802.11, Zigbee, RF, IR).Back to article
