Category: Home Theater/Media Room Project of the Year above $50,000 Integrator: VIA Project: Freedman Home Theater Realizing that not only top-notch audio/video components were enough to fulfill the needs of our client, we brought in the acoustic engineering pros at Paradise Theater (Sam Cavitt). Sam worked with us to design a nearly "soundproof" theater envelope. Each seating position was carefully thought out and the speakers were aligned in such a way for smooth and even bass response across multiple seats. Top-notch components were used to deliver the ultimate in video and audio performance. A bright Digital Projection 3D projector with a motorized anamorphic lens casts a bright, high-contrast image to the 176" diagonal screen. The screen has masking panels to convert from 1.78:1 to 2.35:1 aspect ratios, and is micro-perforated for the sound to come through the screen for best sound localization and aesthetics. A JBL Synthesis sound system delivers incredible sound performance. The components are capable of extreme performance due to their semi-professional pedigree, but the detailed room acoustic design and proprietary JBL digital EQ system further puts the performance of this room in a league of its own. Besides the PRIMA Cinema movie player, the client enjoys DirecTV, a Blu-ray player, and an AppleTV as other sources. http://www.viahome.comBack to article
