Automated Door Locks Flood CES 2013: How Smart are They?

Following leaders Schlage, Kwikset, Black & Decker and Yale, numerous start-ups introduced automated door locks at CES 2013. Here's the round-up.

RemoteLock by LockState Connect RemoteLock is another "first Wi-Fi keypad door lock." The product was not on display at CES 2013, but is still worth noting. Of the new products on the market, this one is definitely the best looking of the lot, and the only one with keypad access. The product is part of a smart home ecosystem called LockState Connect, which currently includes a WiFi thermostat in addition to the lock. Remote access requires a modest fee of $1 to $2 per month.
