Apollo Enclosures If you have customers who want to do more video outdoors, in either residential or commercial settings, but might be reluctant to spend on higher-priced outdoor-rated flat panels, Apollo Enclosures provides an attractive alternative. Its line of outdoor weatherproof flat-panel enclosures come in full-motion articulating, non-articulating and adjustable ceiling-mount varieties, and feature aluminum powder coating, stainless steel hardware, anti-reflective safety glass, temperature controlled air-flow system (for protection from -4 degrees to 122 degrees Fahrenheit), three-outlet power bank, tight-seal technology, watertight cable cover, down-facing sound port and other goodies. Three models ($995, $1,095 and $1,595) cover TVs ranging up to 65 inches, and come in standard black with designer options of silver, metallic sandstone and white. Apollo also offers accessories such as custom-designed dust covers for further protection, a heater module, and “Modesty Frame” slats that go behind the glass to create a slick, seamless aesthetic around the bezel area. A couple of integrators from Florida were particularly interested in Apollo’s solutions while I was at the booth. “The benefit you get is that it’s super affordable compared to an outdoor TV,” says Lynn Stearn, who brought plenty of outdoor TV market experience having worked as VP of sales for SunBriteTV. “I designed the enclosure so it would look like an outdoor TV and not a TV in a box.”Back to article
