Cellular Communications & Smart Connected Home Services for New RMR

Opinion: After acquiring SnapAV, private equity giant Hellman & Friedman likely will follow up with 'transformational transaction' that disrupts home-technology landscape: Control4? Savant? Core Brands? Interlogix?...

Napco Security sees continuing strong demand for IoT/smart home products that earn RMR, helping to boost its Q3 revenue to $20.8 million.

As POTS lines disappear, security dealers are upgrading alarm panels with dual-path communicators that provide both IP (Wi-Fi or hardwired) and cellular connections to the central station.

Napco reports recurring monthly revenue (RMR) grew 68 percent compared to the same quarter a year ago. During an earnings call this week, the company said RMR is approaching 10 percent of its total sales.

Increase in net income, recurring monthly revenue and lock product sales drive NAPCO's sixth consecutive quarter of record breaking revenue.
