Wyrestorm’s new HDBaseT Solution also Incorporates Digital Amplification

Wyrestorm says it engineered its newly announced AMP-001-010 HDBaseT HDMI extender and digital amplifier combination product specifically for electronics professionals that are locating pairs of audio speakers with video displays.

Wyrestorm is a U.K.-based company with a U.S. office in Memphis, Tenn. and the company designs and manufactures a variety of matrix switching, signal testing and signal distribution products for the professional audio/video market.

As part of the annual Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas the company announced its AMP-001-010 HDBaseT D Class Digital Audio Amplifier and according to the Wyrestorm it is the first product to combine HDMI, HDBaseT and local amplification all within a single product.

“Our new AMP is the world’s first all-in-one HDBaseT and digital amplification solution to offer integrators the utmost in flexibility for any and all distributed A/V installations,” says Derek Hulbert, CEO Wyrestorm. “Only Wyrestorm’s AMP-001-010 successfully combines, simplifies and improves the relationship between HDMI, HDBaseT and stereo audio. This engineering feat allows our AMP to deliver uncompromised fidelity, control and configuration choices that enable it to be equally as adept when used as a single device in a small custom residential project or a system component within the largest commercial jobs.”

Wyrestorm boasts the AMP-001-010 is the only product that can extract stereo audio direct from the digital audio signal within the HDBaseT format and amplify it locally. The company says that it allows electronics professionals to save their clients money by eliminating the need additional amplification and other solutions that are required to mix digital and analog audio.

The company also explains that all professional installers need to do is run a single Cat-5/6 cable between a source component and amplifier, and control is available via RS-232 or IR. In addition the company points out that electronics professionals can utilize the AMP-001-010 for basic single zone installations or larger installations where they can employ the company’s line of matrix switching products to form systems that handle more than 50 displays.
