Long before it was trendy to be a headphone manufacturer, the audio company Sennheiser was considered the benchmark company in the category. Today the company is still the benchmark manufacturer in the professional audio and consumer markets, and over the years the company has expanded its product line to support niche markets such as lifestyle and business.

The Sennheiser's latest business solution is the new MB 660 series of headphones, which balance the needs of the consumer user and the needs of people in professional environments.

"Today's open office environments have been shaped to facilitate fast, flexible collaboration. But there will always be times when we need to reclaim space for ourselves—either to fully concentrate communicate and collaborate in mobile work environments or simply to relax while listening to music," says Andreas Bach, president of Sennheiser Communications A/S.

"Research shows that noise and distractions in open-plan offices can have negative effects on productivity. With [the] MB 660 [series] we can now upgrade the work exprience for office workers, help them take control of their environment and create a disruption-free workspace for increased productivity and well being."

Sennheiser says that users can choose ANC noise cancelling or Sennheiser's hybrid adaptive ANC NoiseGard technology to minimize background distractions. Sennheiser's proprietary noise-cancelling technology monitors background environments and adapts the level of noise reduction in the headset.

Sennheiser says this type of noise cancelling "prevents the tiring sensation of being 'stuck in a barrel,'" which it says is the sensation that standard noise-cancelling headphones create.

Users can adjust the operational parameters of the MB 660 series of headphones, including the adaptive ANC via Sennheiser's CapTune app, which is available from Apple iTunes App Store and at the Google Play store.

Supporting the products' use in professional environments, Sennheiser points out the MB 660 series is certified for Microsoft Skype for Business, and they are "optimized" for all major UC (unified collaboration) and softphone brands.

Enabling its UC capabilities is built-in microphones and noise filtering technologies as well as Sennheiser's own SpeakFocus, Advanced Own-Voice Detector and WindSafe technologies that allow the headphones to produce a quality communications experience.

The headphones come with a carrying case that holds its BTD 800 USB dongle to wirelessly connect the headphones to a PC, as well as a USB cable for a digital audio experience, Bluetooth options, AirPlay options and a 3.5mm-to-2.5mm cable for hardwired connections.

Having the right telecommunications equipment at work has never been more important. I’ve worked with hundreds of SMEs over the years and it’s an area where I can always see room for improvement - especially with more and more people opting to work from home. I have worked with these guys in the past who also sell sennheiser headsets - https://www.headsets.com/wireless/system/brand/sennheiser/ but I am very interested to find out more about the TeamConnect Wireless solution mentioned here. Tech in the workplace should always aid productivity, but unfortunately it often falls short.
