Tom Morgan Joins Leviton as Director of Product Management
23-year security and home automation veteran, Morgan leaves Worthington Distribution to return to roots at Leviton Security & Automation (formerly HAI).
Tom Morgan has spent 23 years in security and home automation, most recently as CTO for Worthington Distribution and VP of Worthington University. Now he’s returning to his manufacturing roots as director of product development for Leviton Security and Automation.
Morgan had previously worked for that group’s predecessor, Home Automation Inc., as well as Apex.
We talked to Morgan during CEDIA Expo 2013 and he tells us the next generation of Worthington techies, including Richie Scholl, is up to the task of training, tech support and customer service.
A couple of test runs at recent training sessions, with Morgan in the audience, went beautifully, he says: “We should have done it earlier.”
In his new role at Leviton, Morgan will be responsible for helping to strategically guide the future of Leviton’s smart, integrated products, including the Vizia RF+ Z-Wave product family. Worthington Distribution is a substantial customer of both Leviton and the company formerly known as HAI.
A consistent volunteer in the industry, Morgan has chaired the Consumer Electronics Association’s TechHome Mark of Excellence Awards Committee and worked with the Z-Wave Alliance’s interoperability displays shown at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) and the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) tradeshows.
