Within a short order of time the Ohio-based audio company SVS has become a popular provider of speaker solutions for dealers and online enthusiasts.
Adding to its line of products the Midwestern manufacturer has announced its new Elevation on-wall loudspeaker, showing this week at CES 2016 in Las Vegas. Developed to augment its Prime series of speakers, the Elevation is a compact, trapezoid-shaped speaker that can mount to walls and ceilings, or dealers can place it on bookshelves or on top of floorstanding speakers.
"Adaptability has become a major factor in loudspeaker design, especially with the rise of more immersive audio formats," notes Gary Yacoubian, president of SVS. "The SVS Prime Elevation adapts to almost any home theater setup, and [it] plays a variety of roles exceptionally well. Audio enthusiasts will love the possibilities this powerful multipurpose speaker affords."
Some of the applications of the speaker include as a down-firing height channel speaker mounted on a sidewall; an upfiring height-channel speaker; an upfiring speaker placed on a bookshelf or on top of a speaker, and as a center-channel speaker in a projection-based A/V system. Dealers can also setup the speaker up to operate as a dipole or bipolar speaker, and it points out the speaker ships with a wall bracket kit to facilitate its installation.
Internally, the speaker utilizes a 1-inch aluminum-dome tweeter and a 4.5-inch polypropylene cone woofer that are mounted with a machined baffle and chambered enclosure.
SVS offers the speaker in a choice of gloss black, gloss white and black ash, and it adds the speaker produces a frequency response of 69Hz to 25kHz.
