SIM2 Revitalizes Projector Line with New 3-Chip DLP, HDR Projectors
At CES 2016, SIM2 announced the latest LUMIS Plus three-chip DLP projector and HDR-compatible Dual System Cinema high-performance projector.
After a long period of relative silence, SIM2 USA is ramping up its engineering, sales and marketing efforts in 2016. The Italian company is starting the year with the introduction of two new products: the LUMIS Plus and the Dual System Cinema projectors.
The company says that home video market evolving now is a good time to reemphasize its standing in the custom electronics industry with its range of high-performance video products.
"This year will see a radical change in the landscape of the home theater market and we are ideally positioned to take full advantage of this," says Greg Nicoloso, CEO, SIM2 USA. "We are committed to a full program of activities and initiatives to support our partners as we enter this exciting new phase of the company's history."
SIM2's LUMIS Plus is a three-chip DLP projector that features a 330-watt, 4,000-hour lamp that produces up to 4,300 lumens. The projector includes the company's ALPHAPATH light engine, and SIM2 backs the LUMIS Plus with a choice of three glass lenses.
The high-dynamic range (HDR) compatible Dual System Cinema projector utilizes two custom-built SUPERLUMIS Pro projectors to produce a dynamic range that equals 14 f-stops.
"These new LUMIS products continue the evolution of our highly successful C3X model, [which was] originally launched back in 2005," Nicoloso states. "This compact form factor is totally unique to SIM2, and has seven patents on the optical light engine alone. For those seeking the finest video performance, without the inconvenience of a loud industrial sized unit, LUMIS is still the class leader."
The LUMIS Plus carries an MSRP of $33,000 and the Dual System Cinema carries an MSRP of $150,000.
